Jaipur, February 5. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot said the State Government intends that Rajasthan becomes a model state of the country in the field of health services. “Many steps have been taken in this regard in the last three years and it is our effort that people remain healthy. We started Nirogi Rajasthan’ (Healthy Rajasthan) campaign immediately after forming the government to promote preventive medicine and it will be further given pace,” he said.
Shri Gehlot was addressing a pre-budget dialogue with the representatives from the medical sector through a video conference from his official residence on Saturday. The Chief Minister said that the State Government is taking suggestions from all sections to make the budget inclusive and in the welfare of the people. He said that based on the suggestions, such a budget will be brought out that will give impetus to the overall development of the State. Positive steps will be taken in this sector based on the suggestions of the experts working in the field of medical and health, he added.
The Chief Minister said, “During the time of our previous government, Chief Minister Free Medicine Scheme and Chief Minister Free Diagnostic Scheme were started, while this time we have arranged to provide free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to the eligible families through Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme.” He said that Medical Colleges are being set up in 30 districts of the State and construction work of the medical college building going on in the districts will be completed soon. He said that a genome sequencing lab has been started in Jaipur from June 2021, which has made it easy to detect the new variant of Covid in the hospitalised patients. Soon an Advanced Virology Lab will be set up in the State.
Shri Gehlot during the dialogue welcomed the important suggestions given by the expert doctors including Dr SK Sareen of ILBS, Dr Devi Shetty of Narayana Hrudayalaya and Dr Naresh Trehan of Medanta Hospital. He said that these suggestions would benefit in taking policy decisions in the field of health services.
Experts and representatives associated with the health services lauded the works done under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot including the excellent management done during the corona infection in the State, health services provided at the level of CHC and PHC in the State, facility of free treatment being provided in Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, wide coverage of Covid-19 vaccination etc.
Health Minister Shri Parsadi Lal Meena, Chief Secretary Smt Usha Sharma, Principal Secretary Finance Shri Akhil Arora, Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister Shri Arvind Mayaram, Advisor to the Chief Minister Dr Govind Sharma, Secretary Health Shri Ashutosh AT Pednekar and senior officers of various departments were present on this occasion.
