Jaipur, March 22. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot said that the State Government is continuously strengthening the health services in the State through various schemes such as Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, Nirogi Rajasthan and RGHS. It is our endeavour that people of the State should get excellent and free facilities of treatment for critical illness.  The announcement of free facilities of OPD and IPD services in government hospitals has been made with this objective in the state budget. He said that voluntary organisations should come forward and help the Government in this endeavour to serv humanity and fulfil their social responsibility towards the needy people.

 

Shri Gehlot was speaking on the occasion of the signing of MoU between the Health Department and Prashanti Medical Services and Research Foundation, Gujarat for the free treatment of heart patients. Director Public Health Dr VK Mathur on behalf of the State Government and Managing Trustee Shri Harish Bhimani on behalf of Prashanti Medical Services and Research Foundation signed the MoU.

 

Free Operation of 1000 Heart Patients in Two Years

Government Will Bear the Transportation Cost

 

Prashanti Medical Services and Research Foundation, a charity institution of Gujarat  is providing medical services without any profit to the poor and needy patients at Shri Satya Sai Heart Hospital, Gujarat for the last 21 years. Free operation of 1000 patients of the State who were suffering from heart diseases such as the hole in the heart walve, congenital heart problem, CABG, PDA, VSD, MVD along with angioplasty, angiography etc will be done for the next two years as per the MoU. The State Government will bear Rs. 5000 from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide free travel facilities to these patients. The Chief Minister extended gratitude to this institution for this noble work. He directed to provide this amount as travelling expenses to patients and their family members before they depart for Gujarat.

 

It is to be mentioned that earlier too, 304 patients were operated free of cost from 2019 to 2021 through this institution and the travel expenses of these patients was given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Now this MoU has been signed for the next two years.

 

Health Minister Shri Parsadi Lal Meena, Secretary Medical and Health Shri Ashutosh AT Pednekar, National Health Mission Director Dr. Jitendra Soni and officials of the Foundation were present on this occasion.
